After using for a certain time, every browser tends to slow down a bit in speed and performance. The problem can be associated with variety of problems such as accumulation of too many temporary files, problems with add-ons, compatibility issues, possible browser corruption etc.

So no matter what browser you use, it is recommended to optimize and reset browser frequently. How frequently? It depends on how frequently you use the browser and download files. Once a week or fortnight is good enough for power users.

How to optimize and reset Microsoft Edge Browser

  1. Open Edge browser
  2. Click on 3 dots on the top right side of the screen
  3. Click Settings
  4. Scroll down and Click Choose what to clear
  5. Select the options which needs to be cleared. Then click Clear.

It is recommended to clear Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data, cached data and files, download history. If the computer is used by multiple users, it is recommended to clear Form data and Passwords to make sure the details cannot be used by other users.

There is another option Always clear this when I close the browser. By selecting this option, it automatically reset edge browser by automatically clearing the selected options whenever the browser is closed.
