For those who prefer the convenience and versatility of convertible tablets running Windows OS, you may have to pay attention to the new 12-inch model from Lenovo – Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 720. The tablet is Lenovo’s answer to Microsoft’s answer to Microsoft Surface Pro.

Lenovo Miix 720 is a slick, stylish looking and powerful 2 in 1 ultrabook or tablet. It is still not known the release date of Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 720.

Features of Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 720

Display

Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 720 comes with 12 inch IPS screen supporting a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels. The screen use a glass tempered Gorilla Glass.

The display comes with a stylus working at 2048 pressure levels to provide a natural pen and paper experience. It also include palm rejection technology to ignore any action when the palm hits the screen.

Lenovo Miix 720 measures at 8.9 mm thickness and weigh only 1.1 Kg. Lenovo still use the watch band hinge on the back. The ultrabook comes mainly in 2 colors – black or gold.

Processor

Miix uses the recently released highly efficient and powerful 7th generation processors from Kaby Lake U series. The processor provides a high performance.

3 different processors are offered for different models.

  • Intel Core i3-7100U comes with 2.4 gigahertz speed
  • Intel Core i5-7200U with 2.5 GHz base clock and speed up to 3.1 GHz with Turbo Boost
  • Intel Core i7-7500U with 2.7 GHz base clock and speed up to 3.5 GHz with Turbo Boost

RAM memory depends on the model and offered in 4 GB, 8GB and 16 GB.

The SSD used is the fast PCIe SSD that comes in 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB variations depending on the model.

Connectivity

Lenovo Miix 720 use wireless connection, mainly WLAN ac which works in dual-band mode and Bluetooth 4.1. There is a USB 3.1 Type-C connector, a USB 3.0 connector, a USB 2.0 connector, a Micro SD slot and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The thunderbolt connector can be used to easily connect 4K monitors.

Camera

Lenovo Miix 720 use a 1 MP front facing camera and 5 MP rare facing camera.

Security has become more personal with Miix 720 which supports Windows Hello. This feature allows the device to recognize your face using the Infra-Red front facing camera and unlock for authenticated user.

Operating System

Lenovo Miix 720 will use Windows 10 Home Edition. It is not clear if higher versions are offered in any of the models.

Battery Life

The tablet is charged by a 41 Watt 5319 mAh battery. The estimated battery life for regular use is almost 8 hours.

Though the device release date is unclear, the rumored dates put it around April 2017. The device is already rumored to be more powerful than Microsoft Surface Pro mainly because of the 7th generation processor and supporting hardware. The personal security using Windows Hello is another attractive feature to go for Lenovo Miix 720.
