Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus – A Buyers Guide and Review

After the release of Moto G3 in July 2015 and Moto G Turbo in December 2015, Motorola has launched the new generation of Moto G series known as G2016 or Moto G4. The 4 stands for 4th generation. The 4th generation comes in two models – Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus.
Moto G4 Plus is additionally equipped with a fingerprint sensor and a 16MP rear end camera.

Operating System

Moto G4 runs on the latest Android version 6.0.1 (Marshmallow)

Processing Power

Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor. The presence of 8 cores means faster and smoother processing even when multi-tasking. Another major feature of the chipset is low battery usage resulting in long battery life.
Combine this with a 3GB RAM, it should make the phone desirable for playing high end games and watching movies.

Display

The display screen comes in 5.2 inch for both models.
It supports a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels in G4 and 1080 x 1920 pixels in G4 Plus. The screen is IPS lit LCD screen which supports 16 million colors. The touch screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

Memory

The RAM memory in G4 is a 2GB RAM while G4 Plus is 3GB.
The internal memory is 16 GB and 32 GB for the latter.

Camera

The rear camera in G4 is 13MP, while G4 plus is 16MP camera. The rear camera also comes with autofocus sensors and flash.

Battery

Both models come with a 3000 mAh battery which is non removable. The battery charging in G4 as it use the fast charging technology 3.0.

Colors

As of now, G4 series are available in black and white.
