Google Chrome is the most popular web browser in the world. For one, it is the fastest web browser in the world. The browser has a simple user interface and considered very secure.
Chrome is fast, but it mostly doesn’t reach customers expectations. One of the frequent complains about chrome is the high memory usage after used for a certain period of time. This high memory usage can slow down the computer and reduce the quality of user experience. The high memory usage is mostly attributed to the presence of multiple tabs opened at the same time.
This problem can be solved by reducing the number of opened tabs at the same time, which most users often do not follow or forget to follow. The solution, install a browser extension TabMemFree which automatically close unused tabs after a certain period of time. It can be set to a full 24hr or as little as 15 mts.
- Install TabMemFree. The extension will start working as soon as it is installed.
- Right-click on TabMemFree -> click Manage extensions
- Under Timelimits, set the Tab Timeout and Check Period
- You can also set exceptions for pinned tabs
